Why you should use a wooden cutting board in your kitchen?

Overall, using a wooden cutting board can be a great choice for your kitchen, as it is durable, knife-friendly, aesthetically pleasing, eco-friendly, and can even have anti-bacterial properties.

Using a wooden cutting board in your kitchen can be important for several reasons:

Durability: Wooden cutting boards are known for their durability, especially when compared to plastic cutting boards. They are less likely to develop deep cuts or grooves, which can harbor bacteria and lead to food contamination.

Knife-friendly: Wooden cutting boards are also knife-friendly, meaning they are less likely to dull your knives over time. This is because wood is softer than other materials, like glass or stone, which can damage your knives.

Aesthetics: Wooden cutting boards are often considered more aesthetically pleasing than plastic cutting boards. They can add a touch of warmth and natural beauty to your kitchen, especially if they are made from high-quality wood.

Eco-friendly: Using a wooden cutting board is also an eco-friendly choice, as they are made from a renewable resource. They are biodegradable and can be recycled, making them a better choice for the environment than plastic cutting boards.

Anti-bacterial properties: Some types of wood, such as bamboo and maple, have natural anti-bacterial properties that can help prevent the growth of bacteria on the surface of the cutting board.

Apply a good amount of food safe mineral oil to the entire surface of the board and let it soak in. You can also use a beeswax/mineral oil mixture. This will make the board much more moisture resistant, while keeping the wood lubricated enough to avoid drying out and warping. All of our cutting boards are seasoned before you receive them for your convenience and to protect the board.
